How RYLAZE is given
Two dosing options: Monday, Wednesday, Friday or every 48 hours
After an allergic reaction to asparaginase derived from E. coli, the doctor may switch to RYLAZE. RYLAZE is administered through an injection into the muscle.
The doctor will choose 1 of 2 possible dosing options for RYLAZE. One option involves receiving the injection 3 times a week over the course of approximately 2 or 3 weeks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Another option involves receiving the injection approximately every 48 hours over the course of 2 or 3 weeks.
MON MORNING
IM 25 mg/m2
within 67 hours of FRI dose
WED MORNING
IM 25 mg/m2
48 hours after MON dose
FRI AFTERNOON
IM 50 mg/m2
within 53-58 hours of WED dose
FOR 2 OR 3 WEEKS
OR
EVERY 48 HOURS
IM 25 mg/m2
FOR 2 OR 3 WEEKS
Before treatment, the doctor will monitor and examine the patient’s health.
Before administering RYLAZE, the doctor may first administer other medications to decrease the risk and severity of an allergic reaction, in case one occurs.
On the day RYLAZE is given, the doctor will determine the individualized dose and monitor for any negative reactions. If an allergic or adverse reaction occurs, alert the healthcare team immediately and treatment with RYLAZE should be paused or stopped.
- Work with the healthcare team to understand what the treatment schedule means.
